3. Treat persistent mould marks carefully

If visible marks remain, test an oxygen-based mould or stain treatment on an inconspicuous section first. Check not only the fabric colour, but also thread, binding tape, window surrounds and printed branding. Apply the treatment evenly rather than spot-saturating one small area, which can create a cleaner-looking patch surrounded by older fabric.

Use light agitation and repeat a conservative treatment if needed. Several gentle passes are generally safer than one severe chemical application. Once the staining has lifted as far as the fabric will allow, rinse exceptionally well. 4. Dry completely, then restore protection
